Salad or Stir Fry
« on: 22 Jun 2008, 08:51 pm »

What used to be my Shrimp salad has evolved into Stir Fry. I'm using a 16" Wok.

Ingredients:
Pre-cooked shrimp, Romaine Lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli, white onion, green pepper, mushrooms (optional), Feta cheese, salad spice, garlic powder, Bon Appetit spice, stir fry sauce, olive oil.

Yum!

Straw mushrooms are a good type to use in a dish like this one.

Consider frying raw, in-shell shrimp first, letting the shrimp cool enough to peel, then cooking the other items in the same pan & oil, then adding the now-peeled shrimp back to the veggies.  The shrimp shell contains much good flavor, and too often pre-cooked shrimp is just short on flavor.  Timing will be a trick...as always, the veggies must cook quickly.  Consider bok choy or nappa cabbage instead of the romaine.  By the way, anytime you have a hot broth-type soup, try putting some torn iceberg lettuce in the soup.  It'll cook in a minute in the bowl of hot soup, and...ummmm.
