Epik Subwoofers: anyone ever hear one in person?

I'm thinking about getting a monster sub for my HT system and was hoping someone on this site was familiar with Epik. They are a local company and I could save a bundle on shipping by picking one up in person. They look very cool and are priced very inexpensively. I believe I met the owner at a Madisound get-together, and if he's the same guy, he was very cool. I'll need a screen for the port to stop my 3 year old from putting things in the speaker (like tennis balls or a Pommeranian). Do they have a place in the plant where you can see or hear the speakers in action?
Any thoughts?

i have the Valor. Excellent sub IMHO and at a great price.
I use it for both 2 channel and HT. Blends seamlessly with my Magnepans.
and they are big!
