Man...this is a freaky event...just read that  Esbjorn Svensson died Saturday in a scuba diving accident.
I had planned to hear the band perform as part of the JVC Jazz Festival next week Saturday 6/21.

.....this is such a shame. The jazz world has lost a true modern genius. Their music brings me great joy. Just last week I was checking their concert schedule hoping they would be playing somewhere in the midwest so we could go and see them again. I will miss him terribly.

That is unfortunate he won't be producing more music. I'll buy more of their past efforts.
I was listening to Somewhere Else Before a couple times this weekend, and Spam Boo Limbo has been running through my mind since then.
It appears he was able to do alot with his life which is good.

This sucks, I saw them about this time last year at Blues Alley in DC, a great show and my first time hearing their music.  What a shame.
