WLM La Scala Loudspeakers
« on: 15 Jun 2008, 12:06 pm »
I am happy to announce that I have the WLM La Scala speaker on display and I am working on the 2nd run of orders the 1st production run was sold out and we are have a introductory off er being run for a limited time http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/wlm5/lascala.html
            WLM La Scala Specifications

The final parts chosen for the new La Scala Loudspeaker were tested against many competing brands with some being much more expensive ,the complete speaker performance from many parameters and several months of listening is how the final voicing of this speaker was determined.
The first thing that seperates this Loudspeaker from the competition is something rarely seen anymore a 2" paper cone tweeter,With todays modern technologys this special built unit
gives a world of information without any  limitations, also the amplifiers signal is fed directly to this exceptional  Mid-woofer which delivers outstanding results to the musical event !
The Crossover incorporated in this Loudspeaker use only one capacitor utilized as a highpass filter that is all ,this insures purity of the incoming audio signal.
The  high specification select Visaton  64 mm tweeter is used which smoothly crosses over to the midwoofer at a  very low 1200 Hz, totally out of the very critical midband for a unparelleled performance.
A high quality Tweeter adjustment is mounted on the back of the cabinet to taylor your room if you felt the need to.
Both drivers have a  proprietary coating applied to them to further dissapate any cone resonance.
The Mid-low bass is a Visaton custom high compliance 200mm driver utilizing a special 120mm down firing loading  system.
This bass loading  system avoids rear wall standing waves as the frequency tuned port is mounted  center of the speaker to the floor to help reinforce the low frequency pressures
which ensure a fast authoritive tight  Bass performance with no overhang whatsoever ,which also allows tremendous flexibility in your listening room.
Because of the simplicity of the high quality crossover the amplifier sees a very easy load which makes this effortless for the loudspeaker,
and a very good choice for long term musical enjoyment and a solid investment for even the most critical Audiophile tastes.

Congrats on the new line Paul.  How would you contrast the WLM speakers and the NSR Concerto that you carry?  I've never heard either, but both have had some pretty great things written about them.

Sound like these can be placed near wall without much compromise?

Hello and thanks Arthurs  for the congrats, The Nsr speaker is a little more laid backthe way it"s crossover is set,it does go a little lower in absolute terms, but the midbass and cohesion on the LaScala speaker is Very hard to beat and that 2" tweeter is very sweet.
that is why many people like 2 ways . I also have the Omega Max Hemp with deephemp sub, talk about  tough decisions ,  both have there strong points and are excellent it all comes down to personal taste that is why being a systems builder for so long I can pretty much build a system or add a component and it is a keeper just listening to the customers needs, and to answer Pardales question the La Scala is very non room dependant.
In this 6moons review from Germany I have linked in the top of the page they called it just adjust the toe in and go. They are so easy to adjust also the tweeter adjustment is very high quality and works well to adjust for either a bright room or not enough on a dull recording.
One thing I want to mention though.I use these special outriggers I came across and it betters the speaker in cohesion top to bottom and bass articulation, and they are adjustable from the top with a dedicated knob for each cone ,even tilt is possibleHighly recommended and under $230 delivered .

Paul-  Greetings.  You do carry some interesting and esoteric hifi components at your new site.  I see you are an Omega man.  Perhaps you could tell us more about those Xindak DAC’s somewhere on AC.

Thanks Jim ,On the speaker comments both the Omega , and Wlm La Scala are excellent with different amplifiers  and parameters .
On the Xindak digital product I have this going in another area because of not many know how good this digital product is for so little money. I also carry the red wine audio product line and have the 30.2 in stock just for the record, thank you Paul.
