Thanks guys.
Hi Ed, yes aware of your speaks from your thread and as we've discussed by pm's, very good job on those. We have parallel interests in gear. I had Augies and considered the same idea but in my room the Augies are too hard to control (bass lift problems). The Rythmik sub has solved that issue by design and amp controls, plus plays low enough for electronic music and movies. I may go ahead and add another sealed version of Rythmik, and later switch them over to the w-frame Danny's worked out (have done the math, but in my $ituation may be best option). Very good to hear the mtm handles power in your situation. I have a Scott 222c (soon up for sale) that is rated same power as your Jolida, but will switch over to Tubelabs Simple SE.
Hi Bill, Good points of course, I kept the question open ended considering the variety of rooms and gear as well as subjectivity. What you guys have said helps me get a feel for the mtm's power handling, I think they could do fine. There's always that point of how loud you can play the system before it stops sounding good. I agree this is different for all of us, especially dependent on the room and amp. So just a few anectodes from users helps me imagine how they would work out here.
Your comment is what I wanted to hear: "If you have a problem with break-up, It will come from the amplifier and not the speakers."
I've tried 4 single drivers and 2 coax's (using compression drivers) in the 94db range. Some break up in the highs, some sound too ghostly in the mids. They all have good points, and I could live with a couple of them, but that's not what we're doing here y'know

! I'm wondering if the ob5 mtm's are better all around speaks. The gear search can get out of hand but ultimately it's like travelling and worth it.
Comments on the ribbon tweeters vs. "x" anyone?
