The Jolida JD9 phono stage for sale here is tweaked-out with new output caps (Auricaps) and a matched set of Burr Brown's top-of-the-line OPA627 opamps. I had these profesionally installed and I estimate this would normally be a 150 dollar upgrade.
These upgrades bring this phono stage to an entirely different level. I purchased the JD9 new in January 2006.
In addition to the electronics upgrades, you also have a choice of tubes. You need to let me know which ones you would like. This affects the price, so please let me know exactly which choice (1,2 or 3) you want:
Choice 1 - add 25 dollars (total $375): GE JAN 12ax7WA (nos) (I preferred these over the well known GT 12ax7M 'Mullard clones'. The GE's provided me with a clearer window onto the music with more truth to timbre and pace). My best guess is that the tubes have several hundred hours on them. The tubes were purchased as NOS for 60 dollars.
Choice 2 - add 15 dollars (total $365): J&J Electronic ECC99 tubes. Very refined with natural and musical sounds. My best guess is that the tubes have 100-200 hours on them. These tubes are new 15 dollars each.
Choice 3 - no extra charge (total $350): stock tubes. Never heard them so cannot judge sound quality.
The photo shows the JD9 internals with upgraded Auricaps. Of course I have the black cover. I would rate the overall appearance 8/10 - the cover has been removed several times and there are some scratches around the areas where the screws are. Otherwise the cover is perfect. The front plate is pristine. I have the original box as well as the simple printed manual - I added the additional loading options and corrected the manual for an error.
