These are the coax drivers used in the Galante Rhapsody. They have a 1" compression driver mounted to an 8" paper cone woofer. Well made, beefy cast frame. I bought them from someone that had reversed engineered some Rhapsody's. Cabinet and crossover plans are included, but no crossover parts.
Sound great, handle alot of power without strain. I've used them in an aperiodic box with subs, easy to blend. I also briefly used them on an ob crossed at ~ 300 hz, they sounded great this way too. The plans are for a small vented design (23 liters).
Used with an el84se tube amp, which is a very nice sonic match. Also used with a 50 watt gainclone, with their 96db rating this is a high power matchup, the drivers have no problem going to serious spl's. The Rhapsody crossover is very well implemented, a great job of blending the drivers. (The plans show a switch that has 3 settings for tweeter level choices. I just found the level I liked best and used those resisitor values). You could also use active crossover and biamp.
$375 for the drivers and plans for crossovers and building cabinets.
Thanks, Don
