Spitzer Space Teliscope

Images from the Spitzer space telescope have just been released, these are coloured infra red images and are really massive.  The images total to about 5 GIGApixels in size
and you can download each piece from here.

Each piece is 50 - 80mb in the best JPG format.

I've just finished downloading the very middle piece with the blue and it looks bloody awesome :)  Be careful although they are small jpg files they do take about 1gb of ram to actually open into memory.

Its mind blowing how many stars there are.
