WTB: CHEAP T-AMP
« on: 3 Jun 2008, 05:50 pm »
I am interested in a super cheap t-amp for some high sensitivity speakers in my computer room.

The original sonic impact would have been just the ticket at $40 or whatever, but don't seem to sell them anymore. Now gen 2 is 60-70 bucks -not that figure is pricey for a decent amp, but i figure someone might have something used.

Anyone have something used they would be willing to part with? Or suggestions?

Thanks,

Tony

I bought a couple of the original sonic impact amps to play with when they first came out. I tore one apart to play with modding it, but I think I still have one or two unused/unmodified  amps in my attic. If you're interested, I'll dig through the attic and see if I can find it. I'd be willing to sell one for $25 + shipping.

The original sonic impact amps don't come with a power supply, so you have to run it off batteries or find your own power supply.

If Rashiki's doesn't work out I have a SI Gen 2 t-amp with a less than 2 weeks use/original box/w power supply, that I can sell you for $40 plus shipping from 94061. Purchased from PartsExpress: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=300-958

Does anyone know if the Sonic Impact Gen 2 T-Amp does better in the frequency extremes?

Tony,

I've found it. I also did a quick test on battery power (using 8 AA batteries), my iPod and an old pair of speakers and it seems to be working properly. I do not have the original box or cheap cables that came with it. If you still want it, send me a PM with your address and I'll get you an estimate on postage.
