Where to get good XLR to RCA adapters?
« on: 29 May 2008, 11:02 pm »
My Emerald Physics speakers arrived today. I assumed adapters would have been included for the Behringer, but they were not. What's a good brand and where do I gem 'em

neutrik adapters are industry standard.  you can find them at most pro audio stores - either local or mail order - for ~ $8-10 each...

here's one example:

I'm going to take a local look for the Neutrik adapters today. I forgot to grab the manual, so can someone tell me which ones I need and how many?

Is it a stock DCX?

If you are using the analog inputs you will need female rca ->  male xlr adapters

For the analog outputs, you will need female xlr -> female rca adapaters.

yes - if you are sending one pair of i/c's from your preamp to the dcx, & want to send two pairs of i/c's from the dcx to two stereo (or four mono) amps. (you're bi-amping?)

For sure!  None of the pro shops in my area carry Neutrik, only the stamped steel Homa? brand.  I've always bought Neutrik through Digi Key or Mouser but, Doug's link/price looks very good.

i have bought from full compass before - usually (but not always) extremely price competitive.  and good service.

I have a couple places near my office to try. If they have the junk stuff, I'll have to order online.

Guitar Center is what I was going to suggest as well. The do carry other Neutrik stuff, so they might have these *if* you can find someone knowledgeable.

Both places near me only carried the Hosa brand. I wonder if the Neutrik are really that much better?

Do you have the speakers up and running?
