Lou Rawls DVD

I picked up a BET Jazz Channel presentation of Lou Rawls last week at Best Buy for $10.00. Finally had a chance to watch it tonight. Wow, this is the best $10.00 I have spent on music in quite a while.

Excellent performance, the band was very tight and Lou Rawls doesn't look or sound like a 65 year old. The recording was also quite good and provided in DD 5.1 and DTS 5.1. The did a nice job with the mix, mainly the front three speakers with excellent ambience. The video was also very clear and it doesn't appear they used a lot of compression.

All in all the presentation was very much like being at an intimate jazz club and Lou dispalyed and excellent range. IMO a great disc and at $9.99 a steal if you are a fan of great R&B.
