I just came across an interesting read over at the Slimdevices forum where a couple people are listening to FLAC files via iTunes.

It appeas that two apps are needed,
Macfuse http://code.google.com/p/macfuse/
TwistedFLAC http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/audio/twistedflac.html

I have not tried the apps yet, but will.  I'm interested to see how this will work when using my Slimdevices Transporter, and wonder if I will be able to use iTunes to manage Slim and/or have iTunes fetch me some hi-rez album art,  I will find out soon enouigh.

Here is the link to the Slimdevice thread if your interested ........ http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47878

Great find. I'm going to try it out.

WOW! This is fantastic. It works as advertised and doesn't use up too much memory or processor. Unfortunately, iTunes can't read any flac tags but you can write new ones in iTunes that will stick even if you delete and re-add the files. Thanks for passing this along, Mark. You made my day.

p.s. The MacFUSE installers are included with the TwistedFLAC installer. You only need to visit the Macfuse site if you want to learn more about it.

Would this be able to play flacs that are on dvd disks? A little unclear how this works.
