Sub connected at speaker level - effect on impedence?

I've been using 8 ohm main speakers for awhile and am thinking to try some bipoles that are 4 ohm nomnal.
Does the sub I have connected at speaker level effect the impedence the amp sees? (~ Like having 2 pairs of speakers in parallel?) I haven't worried about it with 8 ohm speakers, but maybe should for 4 ohm.
I know I could go 16 ohm on the bipoles but I want the efficiency of 4 ohm.

I believe the speaker level inputs on most (all?) sub amps are much higher impedance than your speakers and should have no impact.

The sub has its own amp, so the speaker wire signal isn't powering the sub driver, it's just a signal to the amp.  It is not like you have the sub and main speaker driven in parallel.

I recently tried this out for my setup (speaker level inputs to sub) and it works very well.  No issues at all with the amps.
