Greetings folks that know!

Today I picked this up, less the turntable, and any rear covers - there was a sticker that said Senator MK II.

It appears to be a mid 1960's unit, and it is for sure solid state, I can see the amp at the bottom.

There appear to be 6x9 (but larger) woofers, and 3 other drivers per side.

Not sure what this is - anyone know?

I would love to find a way to connect a cd player, or iPod - can I use the existing DIN conection point that was originally for the turntable?

I added a couple of pics to see if any of this helps...

I assume it is teak?

The last pic shows it beside the pool table, next to the furnace - the Canadian rec-room!

This looks like mahogany veneer to me

Hello Mark, I know this is an old thread, but I just found an identical "Senator" unit in *immaculate* shape for $50 and I'm wondering whether I should buy it... did you ever figure out what the cabinet's made of (solid teak, mahogany veneer etc)?

The electronics are definitely SS, so not much interest there, but if the cabinet is solid wood then I might pick it up and try to do some tasteful retrofitting.  This thing is a real beauty, but it's absolutely *ENORMOUS* so I want to be sure it's worth it... before taking on yet another project.  :duh:

Any info or tips would be much appreciated!

Robert.
