hi
I just received my Silverline Minuet and (but) cold out of the box they sounded less
than my cheapy Eltax kitchen speakers but with modified X-over.
SO i opened the speakerbox and found ehh non audiophile capacitors
One ( found in many popular mid fi speakers) cap in series with the tweeter
needs replacement the "Spirit" I found them also in the original Eltax
with what value can i replace it? Is this 475uF
or 0.47uF?? and J means 5%?
this is the 100V version, once used by the Eltlax, the Minuet uses the 200V version
Does it has to be this large value when it is a 475 uf cap? the tweeter has this cap in series and one inductor to ground (parallel); the tweeter takes over at 3500 hz. 475uF seems very high for 3500 hz?
there are also two inductors and 2 resistors, The midwoofer uses 2 electrolytic caps, and an inductor in series
