I have the newer T7 preamp w/phono coming next week
and I'm wondering what the gain range is on the phono pre,
or is it fixed.

The phono gain on the Transcendence Seven SLR or ECR preamp phono section is industry standard: 40 dB at 1 KHz.  The musicality of phono performance with the new "R"series units you will simply have to hear to believe.  If you have gotten out of records, you will wish you hadn't.  FVA
