Aural thrills "the force" active interconnect

has anyone heard these cables?
http://www.auralthrillsaudio.com/The%20Force.htm

They use a battery to make it an active interconnect to prevent any background noise... seems interesting.

John Casler did a mini review of some Audioquest I think that used a battery.

Do a search and see what you can find.  I don't think he thought the battery did much if my memory is correct.

The battery is used for so-called "active shielding", such as many high-end cables use. I haven't heard it myself, but it is a simple thing to implement in a DIY-interconnect, so I considered it as a mini-project for a  while.

Yes, I have the AudioQuest CV-6 and while they are the best cables I have heard on my system, I can't say they made a night and day difference.

I should mention that the ones I had are speaker cables but they also have the interconnects.

I mean, I added a BP1, definate sonic improvement.

I went to a Denon DVD2200, definate sonic improvement

Went with the CV-6, maybe a slight improvement in detail and bass clairity.

But in defense of the cable, I don't hear much difference between most high end cables.

Nothing like room treatments, Power Treatment, and a new DVD/CD player.

But like anything else, it should be tried in "your" system to get an idea how it works.  For example we had an LA Audio Mafia session and placed a Shunyata Hydra in Mad Dog's system and the difference was immediate and distinct.

We brought the Hydra over to my system and the difference was "subtle" and less distinct, especially compared to the BPT stuff I just installed.

So the "sysnergistic" thing is at play here, so don't take my lack of improvement as a "it doesn't work" suggestion.

I think someone else in that thread had experimented with or was manufacturing or selling some other battery powered "digital" cables and felt the "dielectric" technology was utilized more effectivley in the digital realm, than the analog.

(I think it was Bob Crum)

At least that is my recollection.

Since I can sell AudioQuest, I think the post was in the "Commercial" market place if you go searching.

Active Shielding

I had an entire system of Synergistic Research Active shielded cables.  Turning on or off the active box made a big difference.  So active Shielding does affect the sound.  But for the better?

Some cable designers I know claim that these active shielding devices simply change the sound, not improve it.  People hear the difference and think it must be better.

Myself, I don't know what's up.   :?  I have moved on from the SR system to others and have found them with noise floors just as low etc.
