Yes, its probably normal then. I have no other issues with noise, as far as I know.
I do run wireless sound however, and stumpled upon this from Chapter Audio :
"Verse Two Cable Features:
RF Interference is deadly to good sound! With a wireless LAN transmitter in the vicinity, the sound quality of most high-end systems dipped vastly. The majority of airborne RF pickup takes place at
the input stage of the equipment (which usually has a very high impedance) where it meets the incoming (audio carrying) cable.
Almost all Hi-Fi equipment is the same in this respect, with the input signal meeting a MOSFET or transistor pair which (when slew limiting) does a great job of folding down any RF products into the audio band.
To gain the best performance from any high-end equipment it is vital that the audio signal is carefully screened and shielded from RF interference whilst providing a great signal conductor and return.
We have worked with microwave engineering experts to create a shielding
system that virtually eliminates RF pickup in the cables.
This principle remains true throughout the system.
The Loudspeaker cables are often thought of as only a high power conductor, but they are also an aerial that runs directly to the most corruptible
point inside the amplifier; the feedback point, and thus it is vital that these also are shielded."
I came to think of the Cardas rca caps, maybe its not a bad idea to cover unused inputs with them ?
Would like to hear some comments.....
