Icon USB DAC sound quality
« on: 2 May 2008, 07:14 pm »
Hi, I'm seriously considering the Icon to replace my desktop setup and was wondering if anyone has any impressions of the USB DAC setup within the Icon?  Also, is it compatible with Kernel Streaming or ASIO out of Foobar.

Thanks!

Dave

I have Squeezebox. DAC in Icon is creating better sound than that of Squeezebox. More resolution, highs don't sound artificial, everything is more fluid, a bit bigger sound stage. It's on par with a great PCI sound card, M-Audio Revolution 5.1.

Both are worse than NAD C541i CD player...
