Shakti Stones are 6.5"x5.5"x1.5" and filter EMI, Microwave, and RF interference. In the past one way they have been used is under and on top of components. More recently Alan Maher discovered they can provide major improvement in sound if taped to home power panels. I tried Alan's suggestion and over a one month period taped 2 stones to my main panel door, then 10 days later, 2 more to my subpanel door and finally I strapped 2 to the exposed cables in and out of the top of my main power panel. The improvement in sound quality has been stunning across all aspects for the entire listening band of frequencies. Ie more musical, more realistic like the music is live in your room, greater imaging and far more detail. I am so glad I put these in. Thanks Alan. They retail for $230 each. I found 2 on an Ebay store for $180 and picked up four more from a private party for $125 once I experienced the dramatic results from the first 2 that were installed. Not cheap, but I would equate them to upgrading a system component in the $5000 to $7000 range. They do take 10 to 12 days to fully settle in but big improvements are noticable in only 3 to 5 days.

What do you mean by "settle in"?

Pretty much sound as good as it's going to sound and not change much from then on. Settle=break-in. When you are filtering all the lines/circuits in your entire home there are a myriad interactions taking place.

and to think I have been wasting my money on electronics!! :duh:

Turns out all I needed to do was read up on these here:

(Sorry. I googled them and this is what came up.)

Snippet from above posted link:
Some users report receiving threatening transmissions from the star system Alpha Proxima when Shakti's "The Stone" is used in conjunction with the Shakti "On-lines". Anecdotal evidence also exists suggesting that "The Stone", when ingested, produces acute schizoid behavior. Symptoms include, but are not limited to, incoherent babbling about "airy highs, sweeter mid-range and punchier base" as well as rushing out and spending what amounts to a modest starter home on custom power cables and interconnects. When confronted by an audiophile in this dangerous and agitated state use extreme caution.

Hmm.

Raja, click on their site above. I don't recall cryo or not. If I had to guess I would say no.

Thanks for sharing Bob :thumb: , even tho there are the usual suspects who would rather ridicule instead of appreciating your willingness to share your experiences. I've got a couple Shakti Stones in my system and have been impressed with their attributes when placing them over the transformers of components, both from an audio and video standpoint. I haven't tried them at the breaker box but considering that this point in your home is the gathering place of all noise carrying circuits that run thru out your home, this would seem to be a good place to battle ground noise. I for 1 believe your observations even tho I myself have had limited success while using a Quantum Symphony Pro at my breaker box.  :D

Cheers,
Robin

Putting aside any effects the stones may have. You cant deny that its not funny to have stones taped to the electrical panel and wires. Just imagine the look on the electricans face if he saw that

Trust me when I say you'd bust a gut if you saw mine.

I'm open-minded enough to consider the possible benefits of an anti-electromagnetic, er, device near the power transformer, or breaker box, or whatever.  (Why not just shingle your house with them?)

I do start to get a little lost when the idea of "breaking them in" comes up, though.

I've been curious about these for years....but the price has always been an impediment for me to try them.  At those prices I end up putting my finite cash into gear or music before a Shakti.

I'm not sure what it takes to make a Shakti Stone, but if it were maybe $29 they'd sell a whole lot more of them if they really do work even 50% as advertised.

Enjoy yours....John
