Source for 0.1 amp fuse?
« on: 2 May 2008, 01:32 pm »
I'm still gathering parts for a Bugle and PS.  I need either a 100 mA or 1/16 A slo-blo fuse, but I can't find one.  Parts Express has all the other parts, but not that.  RatShack's smallest is 0.5 A.  DigiKey has them in 5X20, but you have to call for pricing (not a good sign) and I'm reluctant to pay $5 handling, plus shipping, for a few fuses.

I'll also need a fuse holder, but I need to know what size fuse first.  I want to use 5X20, but may have to change that.

Any help?  Thanks

Ted

Ted,

I have extra 1/16 amp slo-blow fuses that are 5X20 mm. I'll send you a couple, no problem.
Someone here, hopefully, will have a part number for a 5X20 fuse holder.

Digikey Q205-ND power jack has integrated 5x20 fuse holder.

Yes, thanks Theo.  I actually like the screw-mount version, Q201-ND, better.  That's the reason I want to use a 5x20 fuse.  I finally managed to find 5x20 fuses on DigiKey, so I think I'll just buy two IEC inlets and some fuses and eat the $5 handling fee.  Unless the not-quite-local electronics store has what I need.  I'll find out tomorrow.

Jack, you don't need to send those fuses.  You've done enough for me.  Besides,  I hate to think how big the box would be for a couple of fuses.

Thanks for your help, guys.

Even better, try to find a power jack with integrated fuse holder and switch.    :)
Have fun with your project.
