Free - 2L Sampler Disc

I sent in for the sampler disc (free of charge) from 2L web site. I believe most samples are from their SACD lineup.

I got one of these a couple of months ago.  I haven't played it much, but there were a couple of tracks I liked.

Very cool!   :thumb:    L2 also has some free high rez downloads for testing their upcoming download service... you can even download DXD and DSD files!   link

Man...I am d/l a stereo wav from there and its slow like molasses, feels like dial up with a 28K connection...

I had one of the tracks (1st) played briefly last Sat. at the meeting, it's Mozart's violin concert.  It was taken from another full-production album I purchased several months ago, which has 2 CDs, 1 in regular CD technology (which is good already), and the other in DXD, which is supposed to be a step beyond DSD, technology wise.  Very nice.  I got the twin-CD album for like $10, great deal (talking about buying at the right time, during promotion).

Somehow, these Scandinavian recordings seem to have a sunny disposition.  I loved the Mozart conertos when I got earlier the 2L twin-CD album: one made with the regular CD technology (which is already quite good), like those on the sampler, the other DXD, playing only on a SACD player I think).  It was also a promotional release, 2 for the price of one, to push the DXD technology I suppose.  Searching for 2L, I actually came across a Stereophile article, which explains DXD a little, good to know, tho I'm not a technology person -  http://www.stereophile.com/thefifthelement/408fifth/.
