WTB: BEL 1001 Mk IV or V Amps
« on: 28 Apr 2008, 03:48 pm »
I'm interested in a pair of BEL Mk IV or V amps (2 for monoblocks) if any around.  Not Bel Canto, but Brown Electronic Labs / BEL.

Have a pair of Cayin 860 tubed monoblocks with Sonicraft upgrades and NOS tubes available for partial trades if interested.

Thx,
Ken

I heard a 50 watt Bel Amp... really sweet. If I had the room for a traditional amp I might go with one too.

Ken,

I had a MK II and a MK III that I bought for around $1k.  Dick Brown can upgrade them for a reasonable cost, though the wait is sometimes several months.  MK IV and V's are rather pricey and hard to find, so it might be worth getting older ones and having them upgraded.  They are great sounding amps as monoblocks.  Good luck with the search.

Thanks for the response guys.  I'll keep looking around.  I wish Mr Brown had a website that had his general update/upgrade information on.  I have only located a phone number so far.

Thx,
Ken

The only way is to talk to him on the phone.  I exchanged emails, but it wasn't very productive in terms of info.
