Computer Blu-Ray & Square Circle?

I couldn't find 'Square Circle' on the circles list (I may be blind though).
I have been contemplating sourcing my A/V from my computer and had some questions.
First can you get fast Blu-Ray load/play performance from a computer the way that PS3 has fast performance because it is a game machine and has a fast disk drive, CPU and GPU?
I recently got 2gb of 667Mhz dual channel DDR and a Core 2 duo 2.66Ghz (E6700).
I would need to change MB as well to go Blu-Ray and have my eye on a $95 Biostar with onboard HDMI and overclocking ability (looks like I could run my E6700 at 3.33Ghz and 1:1 bus/memory clock).
I wonder can computers load/play Blu-Ray faster than PS3?
Also are all the software/drivers ready for full decoding of all the new HD audio codecs?

I hate to point you elsewhere, but I am not planning on doing the same thing myself until later this summer. I just can't get parts where I live now, in a timely fashion. But, your best bet would be right here

for most if not all your answers. Good luck, and keep us informed.

No HDMI sound so you're either going to have to use 7.1 analog outputs or mangle the lossless audio.
Otherwise it works fine. I'm still using a ps3 for the main HT, but I've got a computer playing blu in the den (only 2 channel though).

Thanks Woodsea,
I might join that forum and let them school me about HTPC.
And...
Thanks Samples,
I was thinking a hi-spec USB or wi-fi sound card, internal would be fine if it has suitable filtration of noise from the computer supply.
