New loudspeaker database on the web
« on: 15 Oct 2003, 06:09 pm »
Hello!

A few weeks ago I started a web page dedicated to loudspeaker data.
The address is http://www.thielesmall.com

There are currently about 1650 different drivers in the database and the number is growing more or less daily. If you are in contact with a loudspeaker manufacturer, please ask them to send me their data. I will publish it proptly. You can also publish data on our web page. There are several ways, by web form, email etc.

I hope you will find the site useful:!:

I would be happy to exchange links with any audio related page.

As this isn't specific to nOrh speakers, you may get a better response posting this in the 2 Channel Circle.  I can move if for you if you so desire.

That's alright, Jan F.  No harm done.  Moved to the 2 Ch Circle.

Jan F. Can you give us a subset containing only ribbon and planer-magnetic drivers. These are not accessable with a driver diameter based search.

Ribbons, and rectangles

Yes, I was thinking of that. There is a similar problem for conventional 6x9" and other drivers  as well. And all electrostats and you name it.

Any suggestions of how to sub-categorize them?? By size, type or what?
To start with, I could add them all in the same box.

JanF,just grouping these drivers together would be a good start, sub-catgories of true ribbon,planer-magnetic,and electrostatic could come later.

Thanks. I will keep it up. This is a long term comittment. Filling in the data once is not that hard. Keeping it up to date will be a challange.  But the response has been very positive with lots of visitors, so I will keep going.
