1. This music reminds me of our early days together
2. It's going out of print, so it will be worth a couple of hundred bucks in a year!
3. These musicians are impoverished so I'm doing my best to help them out
4. But I don't have these ones yet!
5. Because it's the one thing you won't demand in your settlement!
6. I don't complain about your shoes/handbags/lotions/etc.
7. Get your bitch-ass back in the kitchen and bake me some pie! And bring me a beer while you're at it.
8. Because I'd rather hear music than talk about your job, your life, your kids, your ex-husband, your ex-boyfriend.
9. How about if I started collecting classic cars instead?
10. It was on sale and you always tell me how much money you save when you shop for clothes. online.
11. It's a promo!
12. I went to a CD party and I wasn't going to be the only not buying anything.
13. The rack isn't full yet.
14. But ... I love you!
15. The tax refund just came.

Personally I think that if you have to make excuses for your hobby/passion then you're in the wrong relationship.

Enjoy,
Bob

I'm partial to 7 and 8 myself- no wonder I've been divorced.

I love all of those. I'll have to write a few of them on the back of my hand....in case the need arises.

My wife has gotten to the point where she just rolls her eyes. I'm using my money, not the families, so she really can't say much.

I suppose if I've ever used an excuse, it would probably be when I've said, "Hey, there's so many worse habits I could have. You're gonna bitch at me for liking music and movies??"   :nono:

I really like the South Park reference! (#7) :rotflmao: Her and I tease each other with that quote all the time. Hilarious!!

CD's? What CD's? Oh, those? I loaned them to a friend and he just returned them. I'd never spend this much money without consulting you.

I tell her I could start gambling or take up a drug habit....

I usually take my wife music shopping with me, she likes music as much as I do.
The bad news is we usually come out of the CD store spending more than I used
to in my single days.

However with the evil ex-wife I just took the existentialist route:

How do you know these CD's exist?

I am doing my part to stimulate the economy.

I see we are not the only couple who uses that line from South Park with eachother.

Fortunately my wife and I have very similar tastes in music, so I can always say I was thinking of her when I bought it!! :thumb:

She also actually sits down and listens to my system without me, regularly.

Definitely warms my audiophile heart to hear music start up, peak in the (wo)man cave and see her in the sweet spot, toes tappin.

Now, if she could remember to turn off the tube amp...

I've worked out that there's a great variation on this theme.  Actually buying the music for the KIDS!  How could she possibly deny my five-year-old budding guitar hero the chance to hear Jimmy Page...or Eric Clapton...or JJ Cale?  And do you know how big The Beatles collection is?  I'll be amassing CDs on behalf of my kids for years and years yet.

What gets delivered to my office is none of her business....at least as long as she doesn't know things are being delivered to my office....   :o

Alright, so I come home from work today and there's a note from the wife saying her and the kids are goone shopping (round #2 of the day), and there's a present for me on the table.

My wife bought ME a CD! That's never happened before.   :o

She bought me Leona Lewis "Spirit".
Not bad, not bad at all. But I'm still in shock, my wife is buying me music.  aa
