Speakers are stock, but the outboard crossover these speakers need has had, well, a few modifications to it...

Yup, I was being a bit thick.  Active outboard crossover with DSP built into the crossover unit

Thanks Iron and sorry biker.  It's my fault you have to do a little reading between the lines here   There wasn't much to say about the speakers they are as new with the black sock on them.  They will ship in the original boxes.

My LS 9's should, hopefully, with any luck ship in August sometime.  I have been on this list for about 2 years now and as you can tell from my picture I use to have the Alphas.  You know I don't care what piece of gear you are talking about someone wants to sell it.  At some point it becomes a matter of just being different not better.  I love the Line Arrays, mine are coming in Piano Rosewood they will also have better spousal acceptance.  I hope that helps a little.

Just a few words about the DCX that is described. I did the work for Guy as a friend. Most of his initial post is taken from various emails I sent him. Originally there was to be a linear power supply but the one I built and installed didn't sound as good as the switcher with the "Felix" type filter and the LC filters after it along with the new regulators. This means the sections describing the transformer and PS board can be ignored. It is otherwise as he described. It did take several months to get all the parts as they came from various parts of the world.

IMO the modified DCX sounds very good with the CS2's but then again I'm probably a bit biased since I did the work.

As Marbles mentioned, Guy is a very honest and trustworthy person, we've had several dealings going back about 5 years and it's always been a pleasure.

As a CS2 and highly modified DCX owner I want to chime in on this ad.  This looks like a serious steal. 
I have a very similar setup and am really impressed with the potential of the CS2s.

While I have some of the same mods and some different ones, I know how much better the CS2 can sound with a much improved DCX running things.

Someone is going to be a very happy new owner soon.

I just got a PM asking how much I have invested in these speakers.  I have about $4,500.00 in this speaker system.  So there is roughly a $1,000.00 savings and the speakers are just getting broken in.    To replace these speakers it would take $3,500. + $1,500. = $5,000.00 and a few months to wait for the work to be done.

I just checked my emails from Mike G. to see when the CS 2's were put into service and the DCX was shipped to me on 2.11.08 and put into service as of 2.15.08 two months ago.
