I find that in my listening to audio gear I prefer a tube preamp and solid state amps.

   The Odyssey Candela is a tubes pre :D

Maybe I am deaf but compared with some tube preamplifiers (not vintage ones which are so warm and often slow) there is no huge difference between Tempest and tube pres, and in fact I think I hear a better more detailed and open sound from Tempest. It is on the warm line of the neutral side


I really like it.
