TC Sounds is no longer but their designs are now available from a new company, Audiopulse. We can now offer custom designs using these drivers.  :thumb:

That's too bad. Thilo Stompler (the head engineer at the time) was truly a great guy, very patient. Wonder what happened? All great companies seem to come to an end, like Adire did as well.

Oh well...

Anand.

I really have no idea but they have been facing some pretty stiff competition and many of their customers may have migrated to China for manufacturing.

The gentleman you are thinking of is David Stephens (formerly VP and director of Sales and Marketing for VIFA and Scan~Speak in North America from 1995-2003). He is developing a new driver design/manufacturing company called Scandinavian Audio Research (SCAR for short). I have no idea how good they are, but since Vifa and Scan~Speak speakers are widely considered of excellent quality, chances are pretty good that the new drivers are also good. Their website is www.sbacoustics.com.

There will be two lines of drivers for SB Acoustics. The initial units are in the Vifa / Peerless tradition of good performance at a reasonable cost. There are plans to release other products that are more along the lines of what you would expect from Scan-Speak.

I've not used any of the SB drivers but in the future I look forward to evaluating them for new designs. Given the engineering behind them I expect good things.  :thumb:
