So this Irishman walks into
« on: 11 Apr 2008, 08:45 pm »
a hospital on a Monday morning, see.  Not an Irish surgeon in sight.  No shaking hands to be seen.  What tremendous luck!  It had to good well, and it did.  I'm back home in the middle of my speaker chaos.  I look like hell (more so than usual) but I can walk, type, and complain.   I can't lift anything heavier than a 6 inch woofer for 6 weeks, so no subwoofer projects or HT5's for awhile.  Thanks so much for all the posts.  They were very touching.  I can't really recommend heart surgery as a hobby, but at least my arteries were in good shape, so the good Dr. Horvath didn't have to throw in a triple bypass as an exciting bonus.  It's great to be back among friends.  All by good wishes, Dennis.

It's great to see your moniker again.  Welcome back.

Now that you're away from that hospital, I hope you can get some rest.

Excellent news!  Welcome back.  As long as you can type but not much else for a while, I hope you will post often during recovery.

Welcome back.  Glad to hear that the operation went well and that you are ready to start back in on speaker design.  What about a HUMONGOUS line array?  You could assemble it one 6" woofer at a time and never go over your weight limit!

Great news!! Glad things went well, and we're happy to have you back. Hope the recovery is quick and easy for you. Who knows...maybe all those painkillers will give you some inner vision for wonderful new projects!!! If not, at least enjoy the fuzzy times. We're glad you're back!

My "team" of crack quacks say me Irish ticker will need their tender touch someday, so thankfully its becoming more "routine" all the while.  This is all something I can blame on me mom and all the women before her.  Damn the English.

In fact the particular heart surgery I'm looking "forward" to is being done via tiny robotic hands that can fit between the ribs to make it into nearly an outpatient procedure.

Speaking of lifting, how soon can you lift a pint?

Great to have you back on the forum Dennis.  Heal quickly, but take care of yourself and don't overdo it.
