nOrh 3.0's for sale and other stuff!
« on: 11 Apr 2008, 01:09 am »
Hi Everyone,

Just spent too much on some new guitars and amplifiers and need to sell some stuff that I'm not using.  I have two sets of nOrh 3.0's, one Prism pair and one drum pair.  For the money, these are probably the most interesting looking speakers and they also sound pretty good with low watt amps.  For those who don't know, these are single driver no crossover speakers.

The drums are in walnut color and were given to me in trade.  One has a small scratch (the size of half a dime) and the grill on one has a snag.  A bit of brown sharpie and a small piece of grillcloth (an easy fix if you have a stapler) and these are as good as new.  Or leave them as-is and you will be happy with the blissful sounds coming from these little ham-shaped speakers (these are actually made of solid wood and do not contain any ham as far as I know).

The best part is they sound even better for my $75 asking price for the pair (new price on website is $195) !

Specifications:

Single full range driver
Frequency response: 75Hz to 20,000 Hz.
Maximum constant power is 20 watts
Sensitivity 87 dB
Magnetically shielded

*Picture from website, I'll add actual pix tomorrow*

The second set of speakers are nOrh Prisms that belonged to my parents and I can attest they never made it past two on the volume level of their system and never played any music produced after 1944.  They are in great shape and I have the original boxes.

These are in very good condition and where else can you get speakers this good sounding and strange looking for $139 (they now sell for $250 new).

Here is a picture from the website (they look pretty much like these):

I also have an Outlaw Receiver 1050 but can't find the remote.  I believe you can get a remote from the Outlaw people (and I may find mine, but will raise the price if I find it before it's sold!).  Aside from the missing remote (I know it's around here somewhere), this receiver works perfectly.  Anyway, one just sold on Audiogon for $300, I'm only asking $175!

Lastly, if anyone is interested, I my TV YELLOW Epi Les Paul Jr. '57 reissue that I picked up a couple months ago (new) from Sam Ash.  I am a big fan of TV Yellow guitars and this one is just the right shade of TV yellow.  It's the set-neck version, and is very well made.  The neck and frettwork is as good as any guitar I have ever owned.  The action is low with fat fretts and a C shaped 50's style neck.  This guitar is not very versitile but it's a Rock and Roll machine.  I'll add actual pictures this weekend but for now, I'm going to use this one I picked off of ebay.  My guitar is exactly the same as the one in the picture except I have the original amber colored knobs.  This guitar is no longer made by Epiphone and is a poor man's Billie Joe Armstrong LP Jr.  It has a single P100 - just like Billie Joe's guitar - that is basically a humbucker that looks like a P90.   Honestly, I've got 2 other P90 guitars and I'm more of a P90 guy, even though P90's are noisy (but RAW!).  If I wind up keeping this guitar, I will probably swap out the P100 for a good P90 (Jason Lollar or Duncan).  PM for details.  Thanks!

Looks like this one:

There are no blemishes on the Prisms, the imperfections in the picture were caused by light reflections>
