Hello, I'm brand new to this site and was very pleased to find a circle devoted to Music Reference.  I'm using 2 RM10 MKII's in mono block.  Anyone else out there doing the same?  I'd be interested in trading comments.

Good choice. There are several people using them as mono. The RM-10 is the first amplifier that handles mono in the proper way by keeping the channels from fighting each other as they can when connected in parallel as most do.

I know this is a bit of an older thread but ... this topic interests me.

I'm currently using one RM10m2 now with very efficient speakers (Klipsch Forte II, 98db/w/m). I'm no headbanger, but sometimes have wondered about the benefit of getting a second RM10 to run dual-mono. Any other benefits other than just being able to play louder?

Although you don't need the extra power, if you like the idea of dual mono it's not expensive to give it a try.

How do i go about separating quotes into separate sections? I have wanted to do that but haven't figured it out...When it comes to forums, I am out of my depth.

As to the sonic advantages of mono amps, I have two in my line-up now. The EM7-12 and the RM-300 for those who want mono amps. Stereo amplifiers allow me to get good sound at more reasonable prices. It costs almost twice as much to take a stereo amplifier and offer the same amp as a pair.

I am a value driven guy as a buyer or a seller. I have no interest in making amps that sell for $50,000. When I look at those products I say "Show me the money, I don't see anything here that justifies that price?"

Its done through symbols/commands, which you can copy and paste. You may need a little practice the first time, but you won't break anything, so I suggest a little patience and experimentation. No harder than learning to solder! 

First, hit the Quote button in a discussion thread, a new window will open to enter your comments in reply to the quote. However, you will see in the window box in the top area, the quoted comments now having a a "string" in the front starting with something that looks like this [quote author = Roger A. Modjeski etc... ending with a parenthesis.

At the very end of the quote, you will see an identifier that looks like this [/quote   I purposely left out the ending bracket, so as not to screw this up. But this tells the BB system that this is the end of the quote.

To do multiple quotes ...

All you need to do, is copy and paste the quote strings. You can do this multiple times. Just do copy and paste as you would in a word processor.

So here is the concept:
Whatever is between the quote identifiers is shown as such, and whatever is not, is not. Once you have copied a quote, you can delete out the text you don't want to see or refer to. The quote does not have to remain 100% intact.
Just remember to make sure things are pared up with the commands delineating the start and end of the quote, otherwise, it won't work properly.
Also, avoid having quotes within quotes. You may get strange results.

So you will have a quote, comments, quote, comments, etc... as many times as you wish. You can edit the quotes.

Hopefully that makes sense.

Roger, I have a smallish 11x18 room and I am using the RM10MKII with Merlin VSM (89db, very smooth, flat 8 ohm impedance) speakers.  I feel the system plays loud enough as is, but in the spirit of OPs question, can you imagine any advantage in using a second RM10 in mono configuration, or is the a set up that simply does not call for any of the advatages of additional power, or the theoretical advatage of isolating right and left channels?

If you are using the Merlins with the BAM a second amp will help, but better yet an RM-200 has more LF power to handle that situation.
