HI,
    When I called my local insulation business to order some OC703 panels (2' x 4' by 2") , the guy asked me whether I wanted the FRK or the ASJ backed ones.  Which ones do I want?   I've seen pictures of ones that have no backing.   IS is crucial?

I'll be putting some panels  on the inside of an audio closet to quiet my PC fan.

Preferably, you'll want unfaced so it catches all the high frequency stuff instead of reflecting it.  If he only has faced, get whichever is cheaper and put the facing toward the wall with the unfaced side out toward the equipment.
