Thanks to everyone that responded to my earlier posts regarding read problems with Sony CDPs.
Today I purchased ($21) and ran the RadioShack Carbonedge Leser Lens Cleaner. It was easy to use, the actual cleaning phase only took a few seconds and now all is good. The player is once again reading all of my discs.
I've had a couple of other players that had the same problem so I intend to hook them up and run the cleaning disc on them as well.
FYI - I think the reason I've had so much trouble with these CDPs is because I like to check out CDs from the Library. Many of these CDs are not in the best of shape and some are smudged with who knows what. These library discs are problably the cause of my dirty lens. I think I'll purchase some sort of disc cleaner to use on the library CDs prior to running in my system.
