Hi,

I thought I would introduce myself; I’ve been on the ACI forum and found this forum.

I’ve been involved in this hobby for thirty or so years, on and off. I got my first system from Continental Sound when John Hillig was there.

With sadness I read about John Blaines’ passing on this forum. I met John at Christ Church Cathedral in the mid-80s, he was recording an English Gentleman performing on the big organ. IIRC John was using either new mics or a new digitizer? A couple of weeks later Johns’ recording was played on KFUO. Pretty cool to hear both!

Around that time I did attend a few functions of the St. Louis Audio Society. Maybe some of you are from the SLAS?

Currently I’m working on a combo system/basement listening room; I’m still a 2 ch guy at heart, but being married with an eight year old it would be nice to watch an occasional movie with quality sound. Not to mention playing around with M/C music.

Hey Joe.

Welcome.  You'll find this a great bunch of guys.  Quite a bit of diversity.

Hi Joe,

Just wanted to welcome you myself. Hope to meet you soon. John is sorely missed. I wish he were still here to see me get my Monoliths.

Welcome Joe. We were lucky to share in some of John's recordings and he was definitely a master. Hope to meet you soon.

When I say whore, I mean whore in the most positive of definitions, of course.

Joe, Welcome to the club. We have a great bunch of guys with all sorts of goodies to hear and see. I also remember the old days of Continental  Sound. A few of us guys still go to John for help. I also see Mike Rogers fairly regular.  His son Tom was at the recording session with John Blain. Hope to meet you soon.

Hi Joe,

Sorry it took so long to respond. Welcome aboard  :thumb: Right now we don't have any meets scheduled but we should soon. I was hoping to do one late this month but it looks like it will get pushed since my son will be in town for a couple of weeks before he gets shipped out to Iraq (he's not a foot solder so I don't have to worry as much). I'll try to formalize a date sometime in the next couple of weeks.
