If you are looking for flexibility and really great sound at an affordable price, take a look at some reviews for this unit. The first thing to consider is Rotel's amazing reputation - this AVR has trickle-down technology from their top-of-the-line units that really takes this up a notch in price to performance ratio. The sound it delivers is tightly controlled and transparent - pretty much what you would expect from an advanced Burr-Brown DAC and Rotel's signature amps. And the build quality is great, like a beautiful little tank.
Also included of course is the RR-1050 learning remote control that controls everything on the unit and can replace many other remotes and used as a universal in your system.
My unit is the silver version and is just around 2 years old. Cosmetically it is nearly perfect - there was a small inch-long scratch on the top of the unit that I covered with a fine-point Sharpie...you would definitely miss it if you didn't know to look for it but I just want to be completely honest about everything. I still have the original box, manual, and most importantly the receipt that entitles the owner to the full manufacturer's warranty.
