I may have failed in posing my question and will give it another shot.
I've got a source with inverted phase. I have speakers that by design have a forward driver and a rear driver that are out of phase with one another. Given this set of circumstances, does it matter one way or another whether or not my source's phase is inverted? My thingking is that it does not, because if I had a source that was phase-correct, then my forward firing drivers would also be phase correct and the rears inverted. But, if my source's phase was inverted, then so would be my forward drivers and the rears would then be phase-correct. The dipole effect is still there, because my drivers are still out of phase with one another. So, it shouldn't matter whether or not my source phase is inverted. Am I right in thinking this?
I'm not looking for help in setting up my speakers. I just want to know if my assumption is correct in theory.
