Killer Mass Storage Deals!

I bought a pair of these with 500 GB drives instead of these 750 GBs for the same price a month ago.  The cases are very well built and have quiet fan cooling.  This is a smokin' deal - about $.15 a gig.

Mike,

This is a great deal.  It would be good to use this as a back up to all my digital files including pictures and videos I have been digitally archiving.   :thumb:

Is your face turning green?  :green:  Did you by any chance pay more for storage recently?

Don't feel bad Bob - yours is a different animal.  Besides, 6 months from now, that same setup will be half the price.  Just the way it is in the PC market.

One of the neat things is the internal drives can be swapped up to 1 TB each so the *single* usb connection can "see" 2 TB of storage.  Also, the drives don't have to be the same size.  You can have a 250 GB and 1 TB drive (or whatever) and the interface just sums the storage volume.

They're also available as just the case for $40, you can put your own drives in.

I JUST got 500 GB less for the same price x 2.

Yea, but having mine 1/8 full "already" doesn't make me feel good. Should have gone bigger.

No, I meant cause this is the discless circle, but you're right that would make sense too; that the price is so cheap cause they're selling empty cases! Heh!

Nah, I can never get buyer's remorse about storage, it's always getting cheaper.  You can't avoid it.  I bought a 2TB Lacie RAID for $800 awhile back.  I also think if you spend more you will have less failures.  The 4.5GB SCSI-2 drives I spent $400 each on in a risky, no backup RAID 0 config lasted me for ages.  The OS crapped out before the drives ever did.  Can't say the same for the cheaper, higher capacity drives I've had though.

The $225 for 1.5 TB is gone, but Eaglebit just started a $195 for 1 TB deal!

I've bought with these guys a couple of times and they've been great.  These boxes are sweet.
