For sale: A set of RM40s and an RM30C in piano black. The RM30C is used as a center channel and has the wave guide. The RM40s do not have the wave guides, but I will send to the new owner once I receive the wave guides (currently on order). The RM40s are fully loaded, with the upgraded midwoofers and TRT caps. The RM30C also has upgraded TRT caps and has every option. I also have enough wool to put in all three speakers, but have not done so.
I have really enjoyed owning these speakers and think the system is fantastic. I think the center channel is the best I've ever heard (I have the Salk HTC but haven't used it).
Selling because I purchased Salk HT3s, and my wife likes the scale of the HT3s better. In my minimal comparison between these speakers, I thought that the Salks had better low bass, but the RM40s had better midbass. I also liked the wall of sound from the RM40s better. However, I can't opine more than that, and the wife would rather have a smaller speaker.
Prefer pickup (or delivery) in New England area (I live in CT). However, I do have the boxes for all speakers, but I only have the cardboard and do not have the wood boxes. Anything shipped out of CT will have to use wood boxes around the cardboard. If shipping outside CT, I will estimate the additional cost.
Pictures to follow this weekend.
I think the current prices are as follows:
RM40s: 5,000 for speakers, plus $400 for piano black, plus $200 for midbass upgrade, plus $1,200 for TRT caps = 6,800.
RM30C: 1750 for speaker, plus $190 for megawoofer, plus $600 for TRT caps = 2450.
Sound coat was $75/cabinet or $225.
Total cost was around 9,500. (Oops -- forgot the cost of the wave guides; add another almost $600 for waveguides, tweeter masks, shipping, and passive radiators; that's over $10,000.)
Asking price: $5,000 for all three speakers. And I'll deliver to you if you're close enough to me.
