Is this a rare tube? JRP 2621
« on: 27 Mar 2008, 12:23 am »
I'm looking for some info on a Raytheon JRP 2621 micro-tube (that looks like a glass transistor, but I can tell it's a tube).  Has anyone heard of such an object?  Where can I find datasheets?

You have a picture of it?  Is it a pencil tube or a submini?  Lots of pretty small tubes near the end of the space age.  Many of them are said to perform as well or better than really old era tubes.  Some can be microphonic though, but so can older tubes.

I don't know this one off hand.  Have you tried google searching it?

I've googled the crap out of it and come up with nary a mention of this thing.  It as if it doesn't exist.  I think it's a pencil tube, but don't know how to tell for sure.  It looks to me like a glass transistor, but it lights up when I put 3V between leads 1 and 4 (from left to right, it has 7 leads in a line).  In the process, I've found a little data on other tubes I have, but not this one.

I don't know.  I'd check some tube forums, radio rebuilder forums and some ham radio forums to see if anyone has ever come across one or know what it is.
