Electronic parts suppliers in the SF East Bay
« on: 26 Mar 2008, 09:18 pm »
Hello everybody,
I'm just back into audio, and this means being back to the soldering iron.
I'm fairly new to the SF Bay Area and I'd really like to find a retail supplier of
basic electronic components in the East Bay, Oakland / Alameda area.
Thank you!

Check out HSC. They're an electronic surplus store. A couple in the bay area, one in Sac, but the one in Sac is now called by a different name. Good for tons of surplus and new.

There's always Al Lashers on University near MLK and Shattuck!

Thank you rotcoddam and Sonny!
I'll check Al Lasher's out, it sounds just what I was looking for.
I have lived a long time near a big components store, and I was able to buy
tubes cash and carry, I hope I won't miss it too much.

I live in Berkeley and I actually prefer San Mateo Electronics, Jameco Electronics and Fry's. Al Lasher's is fine in a pinch, but their inventory is a bit spotty at times. Leo's Pro Audio in Oakland has some parts and wiring. Otherwise, I use Digikey, Mouser and Parts Connexion.
