I'm thinking of letting my VSEI Level 5+ Sony SCD-777ES go. The modification was done by Allen's West Coast agent, Warren Gregoire. It's in superb condition and has been trouble-free it's entire life. I'm the original owner and Warren also gave the unit a full check over when it was in for the modification last year. As a source, you'd be hard pressed to find anything that competes with it for under $10,000. I opted for the single-ended ouput. Nothing much else that I can add that hasn't been covered ad nauseum in numerous reviews. The Level 5+ package was installed at a cost of $1900, not including the original cost of the player itself.
I'm not 100% sure that I'm selling it yet, hence the "feeler" status in my title. I figure that it would cost $1200 to $1500 for a similar SCD-777ES. And then you'd have to pay the $1900 to get the Level 5+ mod done. My asking is $2500 + shipping. Located in San Francisco.
