For Sale:
41Hz Amp 4 with Jensen PIO coupling caps.  Connectors are Cardas Rhodium.  Power to the amp is supplied by 2 12V 5ah SLA batteries, I have played this unit over 12 hours at a time and have not run the batteries down, they will recharge easily by the next day.  The charger is the Batterymart 12V 1 Amp charger with charge and charged LEDs.  Steel case (black) with 3/8” black Aluminum front plate (1/8” silver Aluminum front plate included as well), case dimensions are approximately 10”Lx9”Wx4”H.  Both + and – from charger are disconnected at the entry point into the amp when switched on.  Switch amp on it plays, switch it off it charges.  No additional LEDs to negatively impact sound, the only LEDs are on the charger, red when charging, green when charged, and no LEDs when playing.  Amp is rated at 30 wpc, here are the specs from the 41Hz website:

This amp is based on the Tripath TA2050 chipset. Datasheet data indicates very low THD+N for this single supply amp. It is intended mainly for 8 ohm loads but 4 ohms loads can be used with reduced supply voltage. Nominal maximum supply voltage is 20 to 32 volts, including battery power.
·   Output 2x30W @ 8 ohms / 0.007% THD+N / 30V, 2x50W @ 3% THD+N
·   Single supply, bridged outputs
·   Onboard power supply with rectifier and  2 X 10.000 uF bulk capacitors. Add a transformer.
·   Very quiet two stage +5V regulator on board
·   Power FET chip mounted on bottom of PCB for mounting towards casing bottom or back
·   Output relay to protect speakers
·   Quality components. Mostly surface mount.
·   Double sided, double weight copper PCB
·   Footprint 50 x 125 mm, height 50 mm
·   Status outputs (LEDs) for mute, fault, temperature warning
·   Typically 90% efficiency; low heat, moderate heat sink requirement

Magnet wire was used for the entire 6” internal signal path, the input form the RCA are wired to the board directly via the silver leads of the Jensen PIO caps.

Specs for the connectors:
CCGR SCardas/Colver binding post, short billet Copper posts, Rhodium over Silver plate. Billet Copper nut, Gold plate. Glass filled nylon insulator.

GRFA L Thick Long RCA female, non- magnetic, eutectic Brass, Rhodium over Silver plate. Thick Brass nut, Gold plate.

This unit is dead quiet, runs completely cool, and has good dynamics and control over drivers.
Asking $400.00 plus shipping and 3% paypal.  At this price you are basically paying for parts.

I can tell you that the amp4 with Jensen caps is a great little t-amp. I made one and thought the tone was better and the high frequencies were smoother than the lower powered amp3's that I've assembled.  The bass was incredibly good in all aspects.  You couldn't make this amp for less than Ed's asking price.   I believe those caps cost >$120.  The amp4 is VERY challenging to assemble and has frustrated some experienced builders (not that I would know).  If you want a taste of serious tripath on the cheap, here it is.

Thanks Henry!

Bump.

Make me an offer, may be interested in a trade for an iMod 5 or 5.5G.

Thanks!
