Just finished Chime DAC

Well, it sounds better that I expected. Much better. My only disappointment is that I didn't build one 2 years ago. This is the best digital I've heard, by far and it's not even broken in. Thanks Jim for another great product. Now back to listening.

Yeah, that thing really is sweet.  I love mine with all the Digikey-spec'd parts and no mods whatsoever.  I bought a second Chime kit that I plan to build with botique parts.

What amazes me with the Chime is the soundstage depth... it's the best I've heard!

Hi Marty,
The Chime DAC is on my short list (but it's probably a year before the budget will be healthy enough to proceed).  After burn-in and you have had a good chance to listen, I would be very interested in your listening impressions and eventually--if possible--your view of the Chime compared with other DACs in the $1 - 2k price range.

Obviously, I'm not in a hurry, but I am very interested.

Thanks, and congratulations on snagging such a fine DAC,
Peter
