  if you were to blow 1200 bucks or so for a 4 level rack,open shelf concept,what would you buy today.Am lookin' at the Adona Nemisis,looks good from here.Is this as good as it gets in this price bubble....thks for all advice

If you want the best of the best in open shelf isolation, you need to look at Sistrum Stands. Granted you're looking at $2250 for a 4 shelf rack but from time to time, one shows up at Audiogon in your price range or a few hundred more. I use singular Sistrum stands for my loudspeakers and there are none better imho.

Take a look at TIMBERNATION-- solid wood,will build to your specs,and within your price range,AND it does not look like a Las Vegas buffet centerpiece!

I got 3 Adona racks if you count the amp stands. They are great in the basement where the cones are directly coupled to the concrete floor.  I don't know how they would do on an wooden floor.  Paul has been selling a lot of them and I haven't seen any come up in the used market.  That must mean something.

   that's kinda it,i think that rack[Nemisis 4] would do great on a concrete floor and price wise i think it will fit the bill nicely.It's just plan 'good enough'.... some guys spend 30,000.00 bucks on racks,some guys 1209.00

I won't say that this will provide the same isolation as some of the other racks, which is why I also built isolation sand boxes. http://www.cognitivevent.com/sandbox.html The only thing I changed was the feet. Being that squash (basically the same thing as raquetball) is my favorite sport...something just felt odd about using the balls for audio.

If you are willing to do that...you can now spend the rest of your $1000 on music, room treatments, or other equipment.
