two Felixes for one SB3
I followed Pauls suggestion and did not only put a Felix in the AC line in front of the 5v (stock) supply but also one in the 5V line to the Sb3
Wow
my Sb3 is modded by Pat and i have his special digital interlink
But even with Pat's modification and cable the SB3 sounded harsh and mechanical ( new out of the box) with the stock pws
then i put an Felix in the 5V line and the sound became more open, musical and above all listenable but still a average hifi
a day later i did the Felix as well in the AC line before the pws and the sound became more transparent with air around cymbals.
However this morning after a whole night playing the sound was drastically different
really good. You can hear so "precise" in the music that you notice that in a lot of songs studio's add too much reverb to voices.
I removed the Felixes from the SB3 and the sound collapsed, became harsh full of grain, erghh...could not listen longer than 40 seconds
the effect of one Felix was the best in the 5V line but two Felixes make th SB3 a true high end apparatus.
Now how much better will it be with a real good pws?
and Wayne also does do digital modifications inside the unit.
The SB3 is a wonderful solution and maybe better than an USB dac approach
