If you own a Rega P2 or 3, you have a ready made platform to take your arm and cartridge, never need to re-balance or re-configure the geometry and see how the other half lives for $250.00  :inlove:

If you haven't heard a direct drive, DC Servo, Quartz locked turntable - you are in for a treat - unless you have $1.5K invested in a tightly speed regulated, belt drive deck.

Much has been said that the stock arm on the Technics is the limiting factor in it's performance.  I don't know - I bought this on ebay a few months ago, took off the bonkered arm and tossed it and put a brand new Origin Live armboard on it.  It is swell.

Mount your Rega, Michell, Origin Live, or other Rega-clone right on the armboard and get a taste of the good life.

If you don't have a Rega - one can be purchased new for under $300.00.  For $500, you will be living the high-life.

I think this deck competes with belt drive tables $1500+....it may be all you need.  It IS the proverbial giant killer - and has been for nearly 30 years now.

This example led a rough life before me.  It has scratches, but the motor turns and all functions except the DJ light work.  It has been lubed in all the right places and cleaned internal and out.  It does not have legs - they were so beat up I threw them out.  I mounted the deck on squishy puds of tiptoes.  If you want the deck w/o legs call it $225.00.  If you want legs, I'll buy new ones and have them sent to you.

Trim kits are available for it at KABUSA if you really want to hide the bulk of the scratches: http://kabusa.com/frameset.htm?/ (see bottom of the page).  Other upgrades are available there as well.

The product will ship with one rubber (non-original) mat, no feet (see above), no dust cover(but hinge placing is there so adding one is a cinch) but in very much working, workhorse condition.  The armboard currently has constrained layer damping dots on it (helpful) - if you don't want them there, they will be removed before they reach you.  They leave no mark - the gummy residue comes off with a finger rub. It will be well-packed for the ride.

I own 4 tables including this one.  My other DD unit, a JVC, is semi-auto and sounds better with my beloved Grado on it.  I still have three after this (1 each DD, belt and rim drive).  I am moving at the end of this month and, hence, the timing of this sale.

Fire away if you have questions....thanks, John

Let me make this clearer on costing.....

$250.00 with PayPal + shipping if you want brand new feet

or

$225.00 with PayPal + shipping if you accept the unit as is.  The Technics feet aren't very audiophool friendly, so you're better off placing the deck on your favorite squishy pud feet, wood blocks or other device.

But, it's up to you - of course  :thumb:

Guaranteed to work and, especially if you have not heard a pricey $1500.00+ turntable before or a direct drive, DC Servo, Quartz-locked one....to work very, very well  :D

Additional pics:

These really are workhorses, the silver 1200-series 'hides' any mistreatement better than the black 1210 series.  At this cost you will have an excellent platform from which to explore different Rega-type arms and the beauty of direct drive.

For those with similarly priced Pro-ject, Rega, old Thorens 300 and other sub $1000 belt drive decks...this will likely pose a quantum leap in your vinyl listening experience.
