Just wanted to say a big Thank You to Pete for having us over yesterday.   :thumb:

Pete is an awesome host and welcomed us into his beautiful home for music, home theater, and great food.

I had a really good time hearing Pete's excellent 2 channel system. The passion Pete has for audio is obvious when you enter his 2 channel room.

Everything that I heard sounded great on Pete's system.  I wasn't familiar with a lot of the music but that is one of the things I enjoy about hearing other systems.  I often discover new music which is why I am into audio in the first place  :D

His Pass amp seems like it has found a permanent home in between his HT3 speakers (which are beautiful Jim!).

I will be interested to find out if you decide to try an active preamp in your system with your new Pass amp.

The home theater demonstration was incredible.  I also have a projector/screen setup in my system but now I know what I want to do eventually when I have the funds.  Just a fantastic setup that has got to be a lot of fun for the entire family & for guests.  The two rows of seating are really comfortable & luxurious.  Those subs you have in there move the Earth.  I think the Mr. & Mrs. Smith scene was my favorite that we watched.  That Die Hard scene was pretty slick when he took out that helicopter with the car.  The Salk speakers really make a serious home theater setup.

It was great to get to visit with all your other guests also.  I got to talk to some really cool folks.  It was great to put a face to an AC name so you know who you are talking to on AC.  It is a great group of people and I hope to be able to see everyone again at AK fest in one month.

Thanks again for your hospitality and generosity!

-Nick

Nick, thanks so much for the kind words.  I was really glad you and Doug were able to kick it around with us.  Makes me want to have a really big blowout this summer.

I certainly learned alot yesterday.  Everyone is so much more knowledgeable than me I think I benefit the most by engaging in the systems discussions.

Funny thing is the system sounded better last night after everyone left!  Jim 'made' me remove those felt pads and yes, it did sound better.  Maybe 8 hours of warm up is what that amp really needed!  DTE loves me.

I think the room heated up more from body heat than amp heat.  It's really not that bad with little ol' me in the room.

I am auditioning speaker cables right now:  Mapleshade double helix, ELF Golden Helix, and my Ultimate Cables Silver.

I live nearby in Pleasant Ridge, but unfortunately I missed this thread until just today  :duh:

Sounds like it was good time.  Perhaps there'll be another get together ... if not I'm sure I'll be seeing many at AKFest!

I have to agree with Nick, Pete and Brenda are great at hosting these GTG's.  I had a great time talking with everyone and it was great meeting a few new faces.  I'm now sold on the Squeezebox, but Mel said it will have to wait until X-mas.q1q

The Pass amp is something special and I really hope that amp has found a permanent home.  Now the great preamp search has begun!  The Bel Canto was really nice, but I don't expect that to be around much longer.

On the way home I began thinking about how I can get some Salk's in my room.  I think I figured it out, but need to think a little more about it this week.

Thanks again for a great afternoon.

Pete, you owe it to yourself to try something from the Synergistic Research Tesla line.  :icon_lol:

Synergistic Research Tesla Accelerator

I have the pair I bought from Tony.  I wanted to see what the others would do against them.  The ELF's are too bright but the bass is awesome.  The Mapleshades are in now and very clear with good bass but maybe a little too real with no 'warmth'?  Next up the Ultimates.  Then back to the Syn Res.

How'd you do that?  I hope to have a GTG Saturday night of AKFest also.

That is the exact cable I run as well  :D Although I have heard both the Precision Reference and the Apex and I may be ruined for life. I have access to some excellent pricing on SR stuff, just shoot me a PM if you ever need anything.

Thanks again Pete for hosting another fantastic event.  You and Brenda are truly fantastic hosts.   :thumb:

That Pass amp sure is incredible

Kristi really had a great time too, she really enjoyed spending time with Brenda and Mary while the "boys" played with their toys, and she enjoyed meeting new people.

I met some really good guy, had some great conversation, great entertainment, great food, and I look forward to getting together with you guys again in the future.

Very cool !!
I am looking forward to meeting Pete and Brenda...and the Pass  aa
Saturday after AK.  I hope this date still works for Pete and Brenda.
Also looking forward to meeting some AC members.  Ware your AC shirt or put AC on your badge so we can ID each other.  Maybe we should gang up and meet in Jim and Frank's room.

Pete, have you tried any of the power Cords yet? I am thinking about trying a T3 on my DNA-500...

I purchased a Silver Dragon 10 footer from Moon Audio for the Pass.  I am also using Silver Dragon XLR's as well.

The Pass is 20 amps, correct? Maybe in a few months we should trade cords for a few weeks?

No, 15 is all.  Didn't even dim my lights.  My heating gas bill is going down however.

How about the upcoming summer AC bill?

I always thought they were 20 amps, my bad. The DNA-500 is 20. I am excited to see what the T3 cord with add on to the system. I have Accelerator Bi-Wire speaker cables.

Hi Guys,

I had a great time at Petes place this past weekend. The people, food and hospitality was top notch! It was nice to get out and listen to some others systems and equipment for a change. The home theatre demonstration was killer. In agreeance with Nick, that Mr and Mrs Smith demo was awesome!!! Pete, You have really put something great together.
Wish I could have a theatre (and a house!!) like that but I would find myself watching too many movies and not getting any work done!!

The crazy thing is the system always sound better when everyone leaves for some reason!!  :duh:

Pictures!!

First few are of the V3's in the HT and then the rest of the new, revised 2 channel room and visitors.  And I removed the felt pads later in the day after the photos were taken and they are not going back on.
