I don't quite understand...

Adobe reader works fine if you download the PDF to your hard drive
and then just open it locally.

Unfortunately, this product doesn't work on a Mac either..

But it looks interesting....

Thanks!

Well, loading Acrobat in Safari is painfully slow (and I have an octo-core with 8 gigs ram!).  My solution is to use preview.  But in any case, I'm relieved to see that PC users have the same complaint with Adobe software.

Yep preview works great, but seriously, when I use Adobe
reader to read the file after I've downloaded it, I never have
any problems, even on my old G4...

The Foxit PDF software is very nice and not nearly as bloated as the stuff Adobe puts out. I've been using it for quite some time. Even so, I agree with Jeff, download the PDF and save it to disk, much happier regardless of the reader chosen.

Foxit is 5.5 megs installed and the latest acrobat is 30 megs just for the download. It does load much faster, especially on older PC's like this old laptop (P3/700). :)
