Where are YOU?
« on: 29 Feb 2008, 04:22 pm »
Hi all,

Just a thought - maybe we should be saying where we are located in the world - (country)  in our membership PROFILE.  I know it would help me a lot when answering specific questions.

Click on your name then 'Forum Profile Information' and add your location.

I know for some..... privacy is the issue.

Wierd. I had my location in my 'profile' all along. I just noticed it's not actually showing under my pic in my posts. So, I've added it under my gear listings that shows up in my posts.

I guess the location doesn't show up under your profile pic like on some boards. One can only see ith by clicking of the users name.

I notice you have a Squeezebox 3. I've had one since Decemeber  and I absolutely love it. I'm actually getting a Duet when they are released (if not released already).

Great convenience.

Unless you need an extra squeezebox for another room you dont have to buy the whole set. You can just buy the Controller, and enjoy the convenience with the display your SB have. The Duet have no display. But, agreed, the cost of the Controller alone seem high.
Yes, the convenience of streaming is awesome, I am just still baffled by the eternal discussions on ripping format and "which lossless format has best sound"!

Actually the full Duet will be for another room. But I agree that the Controller alone seems a little pricey. I first thought the idea of the small screen would better the current remote for searcing for music by a large margin. However, now that I am getting used to the Squeezebox remote, it's not so bad.

Actually I was looking at getting a BCD-1 CD player but have opted for the BDA-1 to take advantage of it's digital inputs to be able to put the Squeezebox through there.

We're kind of getting off topic here regarding squeezeboxes.
Please start a new thread or add to an existing one.

I'm trying to find out why peoples' locations aren't showing up.
